Tamica Marthinus

From Mitchell’s Plain, Tamica finds magic in capturing fleeting moments that last a lifetime. Through photography, Tamica expresses emotion, storytelling, and creativity — transforming simple scenes into visual memories that speak when words fall short.

“Mobile photography has the power to reveal the hidden stories woven into our everyday moments — stories that are too often overlooked, yet speak loudly about who we are. By bringing these images to life online, we make our heritage visible, shareable, and impossible to ignore — not just shown, but truly seen.”

As we celebrated Heritage Month, we honoured not only our cultures, traditions, religions, and races, but also the shared thread that binds us: being South African. Our identities are layered with stories—some proudly displayed, others quietly carried beneath the surface. These hidden stories shape who we are as individuals and as a nation.

“… we reveal the unseen narratives that remind us that unity is not just something we speak about—it is something we live.”

With our rich and complex history, it becomes our duty to bring these stories to light and to celebrate the diversity that defines us.
