Youth in YearBeyond work in one of two areas.

The programmes tackle challenges that communities face in education or social cohesion.

YearBeyond’s education programmes provide learners in low- and no-fee public schools with literacy, numeracy, life skills, and psychosocial support, and literacy and physical development support for pre-school children and their caregivers.

YearBeyond has a range of education programmes: Literacy and Numeracy Catch-Up Programme, WCED @HomeLearning Programme, Scouting in Schools Programme, Early Childhood Development (ECD) Programme. and the Shukuma/Planet Youth Programme.

EDUCATION

YearBeyond’s social cohesion programmes build bridges between community spaces that provide public services and the communities they serve. This includes broadening access to facilities and services, building a culture of reading, and raising public awareness around key issues.

YearBeyond has a range of social cohesion programmes: Libraries Programme, Placemakers Programme, Playmakers Programme and Health Champions.
