About the Wellbeing Champions Programme
The YearBeyond Wellbeing Champions Programme is a partnership between YearBeyond and Breaking Beliefs. The programme is a community-based initiative that strengthens wellbeing by providing community listening services.
What do YeBoneers do?
YeBoneers on the YearBeyond Wellbeing Champions Programme serve as Community Listeners. They are placed in SAPS victim support units and community health care facilities (clinics), where they provide social and emotional support to citizens using these facilities.
What are the eligibility requirements?
You can apply for the YearBeyond Wellbeing Champions Programme if:
You are 20-25 years old
You have a matric certificate
You live in or close to one of the areas where the programme is implemented. (See the list of areas below.)
You are comfortable with managing your own emotions and are able holding space for others
Meeting these eligibility requirements does not guarantee selection for the programme. To be considered, you must meet the eligibility requirements and complete the entire application.
